Meet the Family

Merrit Lyall & Sorrel Silversage are the current leaders of the Bertram Valley pack, who reside on the eastern coast of Canada. In February of 2007, they bore their first and only surviving litter of four boys and one girl - Borden, Angier, Tesla, Nolan and Dove. 2009 proved to be a time of hardship as Sorrel tried time and time again to let go of her eldest sons' departures; Merritt and Cutter, after conducting several searches for Angier, unsuccessfully attempted to console her. Her grief eventually drove away the recruited wolves in their pack (a rogue and two other wolves who had sought the couples’ protection). Since their first litter's arrival, several pups have been borne but none have survived. Their reign came to an end as Nolan rose in rank.
Cutter Lyall is Merritt Lyall's older brother and trusted pack advisor. As a Second in the pack he helped raise his nephews and niece into the wolves they are today. His skills in being able to recognize several types of plants have proven him to be gifted in the knowledge of various edible vegetation and fruit. The only force that keeps him bound to his brother’s pack is his unrequited love for Sorrel.
Tesla Lyall is the third-born son of Merritt and Sorrel. With Borden and Angier as his role models, he was quick to learn from them - everything from what to do and not do as well as how to manage his place within the pack hierarchy. When both Borden and Angier left, the responsibilities of being the next pack leader fell upon his shoulders. Everything had gone according to plan but an unexpected bout with younger brother Nolan turned the tables out of his favor. As Nolan became leader of the Bertram Valley pack, he earned his place as his brother's Second.
Nolan Lyall is the fourth and last-born boy of his litter. Of his four siblings, he is closest to his sister, Dove. While growing up, he constantly trailed behind his older brothers. By the time he and his siblings turned two-years-old, it seemed to his parents he was destined to fill the place of Lowest in the pack ranks. However, he proved them wrong; when his eldest brothers Borden and Angier parted ways with the pack he challenged Tesla in a judged spar and won. As he turned five years old, he rose into his father's place, shifting the hierarchy until the pack functioned as he saw fit.
Dove Lyall is the youngest of her litter and the only female in the family apart from her mother. Growing up among four brothers allowed her to toughen up and to set high standards for herself. While her parents often focused her oldest brother, Borden, Dove was often set aside, much to her Uncle’s dismay. In time, however, Cutter appointed her an important position – the role of a scout – to help keep things in order. Of her four brothers, she had always favored Nolan and now serves as his advisor if a wayward suitor doesn’t snatch her up first...
Prosper Lyall was the first-born son of Borden and Jaysyek's first litter. Masked and riddled with a variety of browns and russets, as well as being adventurous and daring, he was the spitting image of his father. During the Summer of 2011 Prosper mysteriously disappeared after venturing onto Swift River territory twice before. It is unknown what had happened to him, but Borden had relentlessly searched for him to no avail. His body was respectfully returned home by the Swift River wolves and laid to rest near Jasper Rocks on the eastern side of the Grizzly Hollow territory.
Hocus Lyall is the second-born son of Borden and Jaysyek's first litter. Taking after his mother, his aunt and his great-uncle before him, Hocus is the only pup to sport a white coat.
Trisden Lyall is the smallest and third pup of Borden and Jaysyek's first litter. As a fighter with a determined spirit, even at birth, she may prove to be a valuable member of Grizzly Hollow by means of speed and build.
